Surprise, she's X5!

Mamaw Rollins had a surprise party tonight for her 75th. Whohoo. She doesn't look a day over 45. I got a nice shot of her when she first spotted us at Bonefish. Lovely evening.

It's Friday! That has got to be one of my favorite quotes. Tomorrow is a shopping day for mommy. I am heading to Mobile to find some actual selections of fabric that has been sewn into fabulous designs. Pensacola is not numero uno at that little activity. Then, we head to daddy's track meet. I hope it is pretty like it was today. It was a little chilly but GORGEOUS! I hate working on a gorgeous day.

On another note, "losing" is not usually a good thing and "13" is typically viewed as a bad number. However, I love them both!!! Because when it comes to lbs., i'll take them both. That's right, 13...outta my life. finally. we are on a roll.

Weekend and countdown!

A few pictures from Kade's valentine's day party. So precious watching them all hand out valentines.

This past weekend was fantastic, as usual. I'm so in love with weekends that it's really annoying. I am "whipped" indeed. Friday night was fun with the cousins. Chad and Lindsay took a vacation away on an FCA Trip so Granna and Papaw had their chics. We went over for pizza on friday night. Saturday, we had the best time at Reed's 2 year old birthday party. He is in Kade's class and had it at Triple Play...a hidden indoor treasure! So fun and age appropriate. Most of his classmates attended and 3 of his teachers. It was cute. Here's some cute pics.

This was taken sunday at church.

This is the 3 stooges at grannas watching...Babyboost(greatest or worst creation ever...I haven't decided)

Birthday boy with my Kade!

The countdown is for my trip to L.A.!!! A week and a half it is. I am so excited...a little anxious about the flight (nothing a little anti-anxiety pill won't cure...along with prayer of course). However, the blonde highlights have doubled just thinking about it...well, and a trip to Style. Thanks Sarah...ahh blonde, how I have missed thee. Isn't it amazing what a little color can do for a girl? Love it.

Boo is 2 and 3 old hates that brightened my weekend

This weekend has been wonderful. My little boy turned 2 today. I can hardly believe it. We had a great little party with mostly fam. We started at the park. I was a little worried because of snow 2 days earlier but it turned out to be gorgeous. We stayed for about 30 minutes and then headed to the house for cake. Now, I must start by saying I hate theme birthday parties. BUT, I gave in because of my whole family's love for Mickey. Also because it required bright colors which makes me happy. I made Kade's precious little outfit that he wore...fabulous royal blue cords. I also hate turtle necks (on me, on kade or anyone for that matter), but it's been so bitterly cold...I gave in again. It couldn't have been cuter. Kade got way too many gifts, of course and we had delicious cake from Publix..highly recommended. So affordable and so cute and so yummy. Well, the party was short but very sweet. Today, my one true valentine gave me heart earrings with diamonds in the middle. Now, I know this post has a lot of hates....I have always hated heart jewelry. Normally, I would have said something smart like "is it really the thought that counts when i've said I hate heart jewelry my whole life?" but once my little valentine was born on this wonderful holiday...hearts became my world. I love them and welcome them in any form. And, my new bling bling is gorge! Thanks to my wonderful hub for decorating my ears and decorating my life. My two special K's are the best accessories. Well, enjoy some pics from the party. Tonight, we head to see Marti Mc...belt it out. Much love, mickey, turtlenecks and hearts to all!!!!

My Kev

Who is my favorite man in the world? Who puts up with my attitude and loves me so? Who is a hotty? Who thinks I'm hot, or at least that's what he tells me? Who is the best teacher in the world? Who has the strongest passion for his career of anyone I know? Who is a precious man of God? Who is the coolest dad (besides ronnie)? Who likes to take naps as much as I do? Who is the greatest hubs in the world? Who thinks I am great even when no one else would? Who...who dat...who...???

Muffins for Mom

27:13

How about that for my 5k this weekend? With a huge bridge in the route. Angie and I were hoping for just under 30. It seems our hard work is paying off. And, 9 1/2 lbs down now! Cholesterol, I will kick you in the LDL. Angie, thank you for being my workout buddy and friend.
Friday, was Muffins for Mom at Kade's school. I will upload pictures sometime this weekend. He was rockin' his "I (heart) mom" shirt. Coolest kid ever. He loved me being there and then he was ready to come home with me. Poor kid. I know he had fun though when I left. The new school is going great.
On another note, I really miss my best friends. I am blessed to have wonderful friends here and family too, but there is something about my favorites...and you know who you are. I miss you. Life is just not the same without being able to drive on over and watch chic flicks, quote the entire thing, eat or should I say fight over food, and just laugh and laugh and laugh. Or, even sitting in silence is never awkward. I hope that all of you have those kind of friends, or at least one. We were really brought together at a christian camp. We knew each other, but that week was instant connections. Not merely conincidence...spirit driven. Thank you Lord for giving me the best friends I could ever ask for!

Writer's Block

I have been out of the blogging lately. I guess you could say it's writer's block. I a starting to wonder why anyone would care about my posts, with the exception of some gorgeous child in candids. I finally got a chance to also sit and really spend some time on the computer. Kade is a sick pup today. I rushed to an early morning meeting while papaw watched over him and now I am here until Shelby can come watch him. Oh, the joys of a working mother.
Life has been steady and sweet since the new year. I discovered from my physician that I now have high cholesterol and low vitamin D. Go figure. Do we really have to grow older? I feel like I do everything pretty good...i eat right, i exercise but still my cholesterol is high. They say the family can be the cause. I hate to blame Velma Jean for this, but if she is looking and feeling as hot as she is at her age, i'll take the high cholesterol since that's pretty much the only ailment she's ever had. Therefore, I am on a great path to healthiness. I am not really "dieting" but I am trying to watch every bite I put into my mouth and make sure it is of some value. I am also working out pretty regularly, thanks to my buddy Angie. There is something about a workout partner that is so fantastic. You get friendship, wellness and weight control all in one package. Thanks, Anj. Results since Dr.: 8 lbs down

Kade is almost 2! That makes my throat hurt just writing it. My how precious time can be. Just yesterday, I was waddling down the halls of the hospital waiting for his arrival. I had no idea the joy life has to offer. I am so thankful and blessed that God allowed Kevin and I to have Kade and share him with the world. He is truly precious. We even reached a turning point today at the Dr. No tears until he jabbed the stick down his throat...I hate that thing too! He even gave him a high five. This is huge. All he has ever done is scream bloody murder at the doctor. My baby is growing up.

Exciting news: I have booked a flight to L.A. I get to work the Independent Spirit Awards with my fabulous sister-n-law Kelli. She is really a good one to know. :)
I will be rubbing elbows with some of the weirdest yet fascinating and talented peeps in the world. Holla. More to come on that one.

Well, hope this update has not put anyone to sleep or maybe that would be a good thing with some of you new mothers.
I leave you with this verse. How deep is this one? Yet, so reassuring to know that we can simply call on our Lord and He will answer:

Psalm 116

I love the LORD, because he has heard

my voice and my supplications.

Because he inclined his ear to me,

therefore I will call on him as long as I live.

The snares of death encompassed me;

the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;

I suffered distress and anguish.

Then I called on the name of the LORD:

“O LORD, I pray, save my life!”

Gracious is the LORD, and righteous;

our God is merciful.
