Sleep

Kade spent the night with Mimi last night. She took off today to play with her grandbaby. This was just the 3rd night he has been away from me, and yes, I still hate it. However, I did sleep so very soundly and woke up at 8:30!!! That is the time I should be entering my office. Woops. I still made it by 9 but wow. It felt great. I still don't get that feeling of "yeah, baby is away" but maybe that hits when you have multiples. I know he had so much fun with his Mimi though and that time is so important. My mamaw and papaw have been so very dear to me. They were married 62 years this past Sunday. Can you even imagine that? Wow. The Lord has been so evident in their lives and our family is who we are today because of their love for one another and their love for their family. Velma Jean and Eugene are a couple that you could write a book about with all their hilarious moments and their unconditional love. I can't wait to sit with them again and eat some of that yummy homemade breakfast Velma J cooks up in the kitchen. That kind of smell that wakes you up in the morning praising the Lord! Papaw has been a little forgetful lately which has really taken its toll of mamaw. He gets mad and blames her for not being able to drive. It's so tough to watch, but at the same time, it's truly precious to see just how much she cares for him. He worries her to death, but she would sit by his side 24/7 if she had to and wait on his every need. Once again, unconditional love. I love you Jean and Gene and I can't wait to get my arms around you both!

My little model

These are a few I took of Kade. I truly do have a gorgeous kiddo. I like to capture those good looks as often as I can. (Am I supposed to be a humble mom?)...nah.

A Happy Spook Day

Halloween weekend was fun filled. Saturday started with a nice workout and then a trip to a Fall Festival which was soooooo crowded. 30 minutes was all we could do there. Kade and I took a lovely 2 1/2 hour nap and then we got ready for our evening. We had a fun night with the cousins. So, Kade was supposed to be Dwight Shroot from the Office, but the weather was a little chilly and my mother forbid it since she doesn't even know who he is. So, the skeleton pajamas it was. I took my self to Target and sqeezed into a child's skeleton costume to twinky it with my little bones sidekick. We took the kids on the hayride in Chad's neighborhood (compliments of the Medlocks) and the kids would hop off and trick or treat. Kade got the hang of it pretty quick. Enjoy the pics!

Long Time, No Blog

Kade and I modeling in the Women's Board Fashion Show

The hospital gown I made for Leslie! Isn't is precious? Isn't she precious?

I'm baaaackkk! I know all of you readers (or maybe 1) have been frantically waiting this post. nah. Well, life has been getting better and better. I don't think it's necessarily the circumstances but I have been diving into some biblically based books and God's word and just trying to surround myself with positive things. I am blessed. Fall is in the air and I couldn't be happier. I just hope it stays. It makes boot camp a little nicer. Kade has started First Baptist preschool and he has some wonderful folks watching him the hours they are not open. He loves his teachers and is bringing home precious art work. I'll have to post some of that when I take a pic. There's really no way to catch up, but I will tell you about this past weekend. We went to see Playhouse Disney Live and the kiddo loves some Mickey Mouse. We came home and carved a Mickey pumpkin and made a halloween "Boo" cake. Sunday was a nice day and I strolled (much further than I thought) to the Greek Festival downtown for some yummy food. I love my weekends. Have I mentioned that before? I think I have shared a love song with you before for my weekends. They simply go to fast. Ga Tech beat the #4 team in the country. Congratulations to my little brother....the best runningback coach in the country. For any Division 1 team interested, please post a comment and you could be the lucky one to get him. West Florida didn't pull through, but we had fun wrapped in our blankets in the stands. Auburn, well, let's just see how they do next week.
Thought for the day: Who thought...let's cut a face or other objects into a pumpkin?

10

Well, last Wednesday I forgot to post my weight loss. What's that...1-0. Oh yea. However, I had a traumatic experience that I am choosing not to write on the internet that has really thrown off my meals. Therefore, I am starting back at the strict nutrisystem plan tomorrow. Everyone neeeds a little time off. Most of you know the story, but if you don't...we are fine. I know that ALL things work together for good for those who love the Lord...I know; however, I am really wanting to rush the "good". I am praying diligently for this, but I do have faith in knowing that God will take care of everything. He does not give us more than we can handle. Sometimes, we just go through trials to bring us closer to our Jesus. How else would He really open our eyes? If everything was perfect all the time, would we ever really feel that we need Him? Think about it. I don't think he intentionally puts us through bad things, but I do think he may "remove his blessings" from us from time to time so that He knows where we go to in times of difficulty. At his feet.

Wizards, anyone?

Ok, so I don't have a girl and I don't have a child old enough to really care about the show, But, I LOVE Wizards of Waverly on Disney. It's just precious to me. And, guess what....that's right! The movie came out last night on Disney and I am set to record it tonight. Can't wait.

So, Kade is still a little sluggish. He has a slight temp and yucky yucky nose this morning with a HUGE surprise from the diaper monster this morning. Stuck inside on a weekend. Well, except for the bike ride downtown this morning. I know it was pushing it to take the little man out in the heat, but he didn't mind. We rode all the way down to the water and strolled through the Market downtown. I love Pensacola. Then, we headed to Sonic to get some ice, but the K was out like a light the second he hit the car seat. What is it about car seats? Later, I headed on out to the A&E Fabric store and, oh my goodness, it is spectacular. So overwhelming though. I did buy some fabric for a few things though...surprise. Will post pics once complete!

Tonight, Grammy is coming over to visit, so hubby and I make even sneak away for a movie or something special. We'll see.

Seriously, sick again?

Well, Kade stayed with Kevin or my mother all summer long. Not one, I repeat, not one time did he get sick during the summer. However, the first day Kevin went back to school, Kade ran fever and had to stay out Monday and Tuesday. The following Sunday he got a fever again and stayed out Monday and Tuesday (thanks to my dad for taking off Tuesday for me). Now, all was well, and this morning they called and said Kade projectile vomited twice and I had to come get him. Yuck. Three times in two weeks. Well, here's to the start of my weekend. This beautiful weather and it looks like we will be stuck inside. I mean, he doesn't really act all that sick, but he's not eatin good. I also ran in to one place and he started like he was gonna yack. Somehow, he kept it down. I had the bag ready. So, we will not try to spread our germs around town this weekend...off to bed we go. Or, just hours on end of "Baby Boost". He's obsessed.

Shrinkage

Weigh in day week 1 was fun. 5 lbs disappeared from my physique, and I'm super excited. Only 28 to go. Woof. Seems so long, but it's one week at a time now, or one meal at a time really. It really hasn't been hard. The food has been really good, except for pasta alfredo with brocolli (gag). The desserts are yummy, of course. I won't bore you with it, but I did want to share in my excitement. "I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me".

Kenny P talked me into running the 1 mile for Corporate cup games in October. I am a very slow runner, so this worries me a bit. I usually run between a 9 and 11 minute mile, depending on the day and the mileage. Very slow. My goal, however, is 8 minutes. I mean, it's just one mile, Tara. Geeze. I ran around the track today as Kevin timed me. I can do a 1/4 mile in 2 minutes, but not 4 times consecutively yet. I'll get there. I'm just repeating my verse. Holla.

Movie Quote (haven't done this in a while):
"It's a regimine, mom, like doing situps"

Solo at the cinema?

So, today I realized that I need to go to the movies. Kevin has plans, Kade is going to Grammy's house. Therefore, Mommy needs some me time. However, I can't think of who to go with...so, I will go alone. If you've never gone to the movie by yourself, you should try it. No one will whisper in your ear during a scene you don't want to miss. You can down a big fat diet coke without someone saying "can I have a sip". The popcorn will have to hold off, since momma's on the osmond plan. Therefore, I'm going to see that Julia movie. Can't wait. It was a beach morning with Kade, a good nap for the youngster, a little house cleaning, a joggaroo and then the movies for me. Yipee.

Nutrisystem or malnourishsystem?

So, I got my big fat box of food on Tuesday. What did I do? Why yes, I headed out to Cactus Flower for my "last supper". Hopped on the scale this morning for an exciting venture of weight loss. I really am excited about it. However, I highly recommend taking extreme caution before giving blood the same day you start a new diet with extreme caloric reduction. Headache. I'll be singin' the nutrisystem song with Marie in no time.

Goal: 33 lbs

My love for weekends

I feel like I should write a love song for weekends. Words simply can not be enough. I get...Kade time, Kev time,a little later wake up time, couch time, stay up late and not feel stressed about it time, mom and dad time, sunshine time, boat time, church time...you get the picture. Work has been super busy and well, I will leave it at that on a public internet site. So much has happened since my last post. I got to see all 3 of my best friends in the whole wide world between the 1st of July and the 9th of August. Brandi, Carin and then Laura. Ahhhh. I love those chickies. Kade got to meet his future bride, Mary Patton. I also got to see Kelly Langford, who was like my sister growing up. She got to meet stud Kade. It's just been some fun time weekends. Here's a few pics.

Trust in the Lord

"Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths"
Proverbs 3:5,6

I've been going through some challenges lately, and I'm not really sure what God is trying to tell me or show me. This verse just keeps coming to mind. He will direct my paths because that is what He said. As I look around me at some of the saddest things happening in the world I can not help but feel truly blessed. I have an amazing family that loves me and wonderful friends. I have the greatest husband and a baby boy that to me is, perfect. I could not ask for more.

Just a quote

I love this movie:

"I don't get"

"St. James, it's religious"

Good luck.

Day of Births, Never ending bike rides and super dads

What a weekend! After the bed and breakfast bust, I was praying for an uphill climb to the fun time station. Saturday, I had planned on riding the yellowride bike ride with Brett in memory of my papaw Gilliland "Slick" and in honor of my papaw Pritchett, Eugene. He was planning on riding the 37 mile course and I was contemplating it, but pretty sure I would stick with 10 with the mountain bike I was borrowing. I mean, Brett trained and T did not. However, humans are much more capable than we think and mix that with T-rolls will power to do it...shazam! 37 miles in Bay Minette with many hills tested my strength, but I had a great time! I am absolutely in for next year. Here's some pics for your viewing pleasure...don't mind the oodles of perspiration.

Sunday was a wonderful day for the fathers. Kade got Kev a very cool Boston Red Sox hat, clay footprints and a dog tag necklace which he hates. It was more for the keepsake aspect of it, because I was in a cheesy...let's try to make it special kind of mood. Oh, well...went right along with the rest of my gift giving. :) Then, we celebrated 4 birthdays at moms (me, Kev, Brett and Amanda). We actually had 4 cakes..yes, my mom had to get a cake for each of us. For some reason, I was super stressed out. I don't know if it was Kade's mood or the new vitamins entering my system, but my nerves were shot and it felt like I needed another weekend. However, I did enjoy spending time with the family. Ed, Alicia and fam were also in town. Amanda's family came to the party as well...it was so good to see everyone.

Today, my actual Birthday was complete with a very busy work day and a trip to the dentist. Ugh. Can you believe I accepted that on my calendar? To finish the day and make up for the misery of work and dentist, mom bought all the girls movie tickets!!! Holla. I was super excited. The Proposal = highly recommended. Well, I will quit blabbering for now. I appreciate everyone's kind words on this birthday. Love you all.
